“GETTING THE WORD OUT”

WE LIVE IN A WORLD OF WORDS,

WORDS – RIGHT NOW – AROUND THE WORLD ARE BEING SPOKEN TO COMMUNICATE MESSAGES. THIS MORNING EVERYONE HERE HAS USED MANY WORDS. IN EVERY LANGUAGE WORDS ARE USED – ENGLISH – SPANISH – LATIN – FRENCH – AND MANY MORE.

WORDS we USE EACH DAY,

IT HAS BEEN SAID, A man averages speaking 10,000 words a day, a woman 25,000. We speak in person, on the telEPHONE – cell phoneS – textING – & ON the Internet.

Do you know God hears all of our words? ((BAD WORDS)) Pr 12:18 SAYS, reckless words pierce like a sword,” Pr 15:1 SAYS, A harsh word stirs up anger.” (((GOOD WORDS))) “(a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a (kind words) prov. 12:25 says, a kind word cheers him up.” Pr 16:24 also says, “Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” an finally we read in Ps 19:14 “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart.”  I hope you find that your words are good and kind each day.

THE FIRST WORD EVER SPOKEN

Ps 33:6 “By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.”

Ge 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

Ge 1:3 “And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.”

Jn 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

Jn 1:2 “He was with God in the beginning.”

Jn 1:3 “Through him (the word) all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.”

Jn 1:4 “In him (the word) was life, and that life was the light of men.”

Jn 1:14The Word became flesh (jesus born) and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Jesus was “The Living Word.” He lived – Spoke His Word to people – touched them – healed them – died for them – arose for them – told those first women & men – to “go” & Get the Word out. today -Tell it – in school – in the neighborhood – at work – & to friends.

at christmastime, we celebrate the birth of jesus christ. he is “god’s word” to us and with us – “immanuel.”

He ascended into heaven – is now praying for us – and coming again for us. he said, “i am the way – the truth – and the life, no man comes to the father except through me.”

In John 8:51 jesus said, “I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.” Heb 4:12 reads, “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow.”

in Revelations 22:6 The angel said to (john) me, These words are trustworthy and true.”

John the apostle records in his gospel, john 6:68 “Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”

In the bible – god’s word - we find words that far exceed any words of webster’s dictionary. god’s word is Far more in message than human INTELLECT or expression. it is perfect in truth -eternal in existence and final – without the possibility of change.

i asked the children in church the other day, “have you ever been a tattle-tale? some said, “yes.” (we have probably all been at one time or another.) I said, “let’s be tattle-tales for jesus.” let’s tell

others about him wherever we go. let’s Get the Word out.

the birth of jesus christ is god’s “living word” and the bible is “His “written word.

may god bless you this christmas as you celebrate jesus - god’s living word.
